Community Overview

The community is at the heart of nearly everything we do at Springfield Public Schools. We strongly believe the schools belong to the community and the community belongs to the schools. We strive to reflect our diverse population in our curriculum and we seek the support of our fast-growing business community in providing professional opportunities for students. The community played a vital role in the creation of our Springfield Quality Education Model (S-QEM), which seeks to do more than raise test scores or graduation rates — it’s an initiative that strives to provide students with a high quality of education and the sense that they are citizens of their community.
