The S.T.A.R.T.T. initiative is a program that provides each student and teacher at Springfield Middle School an iBook computer for teaching and learning. They have access to these laptops 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Springfield Public Schools is excited to have the first public school in Oregon to roll-out this innovative program. An unveiling of the S.T.A.R.T.T. initiative was
held on February 11, 2005. The event provided an opportunity for
community members to tour the school and see firsthand the benefits
of the program. The press conference included comments from State
Superintendent of Public Instruction, Susan Castillo, Karmen Fore,
from Congressman DeFazio's Office, and other key leaders from Springfield
Public Schools and Apple Computer. |
