Briggs Middle School teachers are using Edline to inform parents about class assignments and grades. This is an online program where parents can check on how their child is doing in classes. Grades are updated on Edline about once a week.
If your child did not come home with your activation code, if you have misplaced it, or if you have forgotten your screen name and password, you can contact Karen Galceran by email at karen.galceran@sps.lane.edu or call the Briggs office (744-6350).
To get started:
1. Make sure you have your personal Edline activation code.
2. Click on the Edline sign in page link. Once in Edline, click on “Click here if you have a new activation code.”
3. Type in your activation code.
4. Follow the remaining steps to create your Edline screen name and password. Students should create their screen name as first initial, middle initial, last name, ie: klgalceran. When creating a student screen name, you may receive a message saying that the screen name is already in use. In this case, enter first and second letters of first name, middle initial and last name, ie: kalgalceran. In rare cases, you may need to add a third letter of the first name. Student passwords should be their Briggs six-digit student id number. Parent screen name and password is your choice.
5. When asked if you already have an account, click “New Account” if this is your first time using Edline. If you already have an Edline account, click “Combined Accounts” to add your child to your existing account.
6. On the last account activation page, print the “Student/Parent Quick-Start Guide” so you can make the most of Edline. After this, you no longer need your activation code – you will always use your screen name and password to access Edline.
Whenever you login to Edline, click on your child’s name in the yellow Shortcuts box. You will then see shortcuts to his or her classes, calendar and reports. Be sure to click the Help button and print the “Student/Parent Quick-Start Guide” to take advantage of Edline features.
