Every staff member at Agnes Stewart Middle School is committed to helping each student reach his or her full potential.

We will provide a safe and caring environment for the promotion of learning and development of the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical growth of each student. Our philosophy is based upon creating an environment where the emphasis is on meeting the student's needs rather than their desires.
This philosophy originates in ancient Native American child rearing practices. When the student's needs for belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity are met, the child's "Circle of Courage" is fulfilled.

 Developmental research shows that when these four basic needs are met, the student is able to focus on the development of his or her intellectual, emotional, social, and physical self.
