Site Council
Greetings, everyone, from your SHS Site Council
We feel it is important for parents to understand what the Site
Council does for our high school. According to Oregon law, duties of
the Site Council include:
- The development and implementation of plans to improve the
professional growth of a school's staff, the improvement of the
school's instructional program, the development and coordination
of plans for the implementation of the Education Act for the 21st
century, and the administration of grants-in-aid for the
professional development of teachers and classified district
employees.
- Council training, and communication committees. This year the
SHS Site Council will be involved in learning more about CAM and
how this state mandated process will be implemented at SHS over
the next few years.
- During our recent staff development day, staff were involved
in various building activities during the morning and district
activities during the afternoon. some of these activities included
a library workshop, Tech Prep/CAM meeting, and a special education
workshop.
- We met for our second regularly business meeting on October 1,
during which time we heard reports from various groups or
individuals in the building. We do this throughout the year as
requests are submitted to us.
